Summer Women's Kayaking Retreat
August 19 - 22, 2021 | Bring the flow back into your life! Be a weekend warrior and become empowered with like-minded women in the Northwoods on the Three Lakes Chain! This is a trip for active women who would like additional support in their journey towards self-care. This is a great adventure for women who love the outdoors, want to experience something new and need a tribe to connect with. See below for more information.
Kayaks rented from Wildwood Outdoor Adventures! Take a look here at their list of boats. Let us know if you're attending with a friend and would like a tandem versus a single kayak where you paddle solo. Everyone will learn in a solo kayak day 1, but touring will be in a tandem (unless you bring your own boat).
The kayak instruction led by ACA LII Certified Instructor Moira Farrell is meant to give you the skills needed to paddle on your own in similar conditions with confidence and joy! We'll go over terminology, boat fit, launching and landing, injury prevention, basic paddle strokes and there will be a self-rescue demonstration with the option to try. We'll learn how to bring our mindfulness practices to the water for a more meditative experience when paddling slow through channels, and/or to give us strength & power during a strong headwind. This will be a workshop beneficial to both beginner and intermediate paddlers, and will empower you to paddle with confidence.
Health & Cancellation Policy (updated 1/2021)
We have the right to cancel the event due to inclement weather (severe cold, unsafe travel conditions). If that should happen, you will receive a full refund. If you should need to cancel, please see our cancellation policy here.

COVID-19 Safety Plan
While we will be encouraging a group of willing people to physically meet, we need you to know that our safety plan will adhere to all up-to-date CDC guidelines during the retreat regarding spacing, group size, sanitation practices and more. You will be emailed our plan 2-3 weeks prior to the retreat as guidelines are continuously changing. We are hopeful most people will be vaccinated by then, but again, we honor and value all feelings regarding this sensitive matter. If you are registering for a retreat, you are assuming the risks and making a conscious choice in believing that the value of the experience will outweigh any possible health related outcomes. We feel safe about offering outdoor experiences that are naturally socially distant due to the type of activities offered.
