Vision
All workshops and programs rely heavily on play as the tool for learning. Play allows us to tie our internal learning to external movement, creating more memory cells. Each workshop is centered in experiential rhetoric with a dash of mindfulness to help participants better understand the scientific reasons for reactions, habits and tendencies. With a little science lesson, both youth and adults will understand their why and then receive tools to handle what's next for optimal group success. Why invest in leadership training? Because it works... but more importantly, because EVERYONE matters. Hike & Heal Wellness has strategically created programming that is far from recreational. We live, breathe and teach with intention, helping inspire leaders from the inside, out.

Need some new ideas? Are you looking to promote creativity and innovation? Well let's play! Too often we become stagnant in our jobs, doing things the easy way versus thinking outside the box and becoming more efficient and dynamic in our decision making process. We will take your team through a series of focused, fun and safe activities that teach people how to first trust themselves and then the group they are working with. This is a highly beneficial workshop that is typically a full-day, six-hour program or is cut into two, four-hour programs.

Transforming Bully's into Leaders
The overused buzzword, "bully," effortlessly floats around schools, the news and social media. "Johnny is bullying me!" is something teachers hear every day, even though they know that student wasn't getting bullied. This workshop teaches students the difference between bullying, teasing and being inappropriate. Students will walk away understanding how to better communicate their needs to adults, how to resolve common school-aged conflicts ON THEIR OWN, and what leadership qualities they need to start putting into action to prevent conflict. Students often claim they feel "tricked" into learning during this fast-paced, and engaging workshop! Inclusive language, cyberbullying and gender-based bullying can all be addressed.
Motivating for Success
Students at times offer a lack of motivation in the classroom, outwardly in their friendships and in other areas of their life. As a teacher, you know it's important to figure out how to intrinsically motivate your students, sometimes a seemingly impossible job! Bring us in to deliver an impactful, 2-hour workshop that taps into student motivation to increase their overall success. We identify the obstacles that are getting in their way and literally rip through them which provides a metaphor for kids to move past those things in life that hold us back from our true potential. This is a great program for the middle of the school year and one that is even better with a guidance counselor present.
Sports Teams: The Mental Game
Athletes are expected to perform at their highest level physically, yet they are so mentally distracted by other things that it affects their game. Let our professional team have some fun with yours by engaging them in hands-on activities to provoke meaningful conversations to improve team function. Players will walk away with a better understanding of trust, respect, communication (on and off the field/court) what it means to be "teammate," how to think like a champion, skills to be an effective captain and so much more. These inspirational days are for players and coaches alike, as you get to see how much a team can improve working together over a short time frame. A must do for female sports teams! Play at the next level for male teams!

This hands-on workshop will ignite something special in your group that seemed to be lost or non-existent altogether. Students will walk away empowered and re-energized after realizing just how talented and special they really are. We are amazed at every opportunity we get to work with students who are claimed to be "at-risk." They perform better in groups than one can even imagine! From ingenuity to caring and kindness, these groups inspire!
JEDI Minds
Do you like Star Wars? We do too. Master Yoda has provided quite a bit of wisdom over the years that facilitators at Hike & Heal Wellness live by. "Do or do not, there is no try." Participants will be encouraged to lead wisely and set themselves, as well as their peers, up for success the first time. J.E.D.I. Minds stands for Just, Empathetic, Dutiful & Independent Minds. Participants will have a blast using their imaginations to cultivate mindfulness using the dharma of Star Wars. When people think of mindfulness, often times they think of sitting down and meditating. Mindfulness can take many forms, and our perspective is that mindfulness and leadership are one in the same.... with just a little more attention on the breath. Kids will leave empowered with tools to better handle the ups and downs of life, as well as a better sense of self-awareness and personal responsibility.
