Enjoy three different types of yoga classes, a two-hour introductory kayaking workshop, optional 1-on-1 Reiki sessions (first come, first serve!), a self-care, meditation and mindfulness workshop, fun & games, a one-hour crystal singing bowl sound healing concert, and a kayaking day trip with lunch on an island (if weather conditions permit). You will benefit from cabin lodging, healthy beverages and a total of six healthy meals. The kayaking day trip will have bits of Eagle River history, beautiful fall colors and nature sightings, as well as a chance to apply the mindfulness practices taught from day 1 directly to your paddling. Beginner paddlers welcome! Kayaking gear can be provided if necessary.
Kayaks rented from Wildwood Outdoor Adventures! Take a look here at their list of boats. Let us know if you're attending with a friend and would like a tandem versus a single kayak where you paddle solo. Everyone will learn in a solo kayak day 1, but touring can be fun with a friend.
The kayak instruction led by ACA LII Certified Instructor Moira Farrell is meant to give you the skills needed to paddle on your own in similar conditions with confidence and joy! We'll go over terminology, boat fit, launching and landing, injury prevention, basic paddle strokes and there will be a self-rescue demonstration with the option to try if water temperature is favorable. We'll learn how to bring our yogic breathwork to the water for a more meditative experience when paddling slow through channels, and/or to give us strength & power during a strong headwind. This will be a workshop beneficial to both beginner and intermediate paddlers, and will empower you to paddle with confidence.
