A six-class series over 3 weeks for you and your little one(s) to explore, climb, imagine, sing, play & connect with other families outside in natural spaces. Think respite from having to plan fun activities to engage your kids. Think developmentally appropriate sensory-based play that is led by the interest of the kids. This can be self-care for you! Gathering in community is healing in itself, and reminds us that we are not met to do thisĀ on our own. It takes a village, and when we see other parents going through it - we feel more human and normal. :)
Get ready to pack a picnic snack lunch, sun protection & be ready to be around mosquitos sometimes. It builds resilience and being in the summer woods as a group also helps normalize it! We'll play with water, bugs, plants, sand, mud and more. Plan to dress kids (and you!) in clothes that can get dirty and/or wet, as well as something cozy to throw on for the ride home.

The Details
Dates: Mondays and Wednesdays (or both) for 3 Weeks!
Time: 9:30am - 12:00pm **Opening circle happens when everyone arrives. The idea is to not be stressed on days you get to attend. This should feel like a breath of fresh air! Give yourself permission to be late and be welcomed with open arms. There will be landing activities for families to engage in while we all gather at a relaxed pace. Programming will end between 11:30-11:45 and families are welcome to stay longer for kids to eat and parents to mingle. Location: Moira's home (East Madison) + nearby walkable parks - address will be emailed before you attend. ***She has two dogs that hang with us part of the time together. If you have severe dog allergies, this may not be the program for you. Sorry! It is great to teach babies and toddlers pet etiquette and to help them become comfortable around animals. A 2024 highlight was a 2yo terrified of dogs, who ended up wanting to pet them! Investment: $125/6-class pass or $25 per drop-in class. Description: After landing in sensory play, we meet in circle, share gratitude, read a short story or sing a song & play an energizing game. Afterwards the kids lead us on an adventure where I facilitate invitations based on what energy and interest the kids have. Some days have themes around the book, some don't. The weather and bug conditions also influences our plan. After ample time spent in imaginary play we come back together in community to put closure on our experience with stories, songs & of course - a snack lunch. This group is super helpful for new moms with 2-3 kids where navigating caring for Mama's body and older toddlers takes a back seat to the needs of the new infant. Items to Bring:

Your Guide: Ms. Mo / MoMo
Hey ya'll! During the summer of 2020, after COVID struck hard and summer camp felt dicey, I needed to come up with new programming that felt a bit safer. This was one of those programs, and I have to say, it was so enjoyable that I've been itching to reactivate it! Here we are in 2025, and my kids will be 3 & 6 - the perfect age to include them on outdoor adventures.
Most people who know me through teaching call me Ms. Mo. I teach Physical Education full-time during the school year at Midvale Elementary & run this business on the side year-round. My passions are curriculum involving mindfulness and nature play. I love the sensory input we all get from being outside, as well as the mental & emotional enhancers we receive. I am wild about offering awe and wonder-inspired imaginary play for people across the lifespan. Isn't nature fun!? My background I am a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher through an organization called Breathe 4 Change. They focus on teacher well-being and helping build teacher's tool boxes of social & emotional regulation games for kids. I took a Rainbow Kids Yoga training that following Autumn and loved every second of it. Both experience set the stage for opening Hike and Heal Wellness's Youth & Family programs. I lead Forest Bathing, Yoga & Sound Healing experiences for adults year-round that focus on enhancing our mental, emotional and physical states of being. I grew up in a family of 8 kids and have been in a caretaking role since 5th grade. In a family that large, there are always babies around! I am your local professional for family-centered play! I'd love nothing more than to guide you through this series over the summer for lots of memories, exploring and personal growth. I plan to collaborate with a few other mom+nature educators and/or call on my trained Middle School aged mentors to assist on these outings. That way, we can carve out some space for you to benefit from some much needed self-care, separate from your children. If you've got a newborn, depending on who is there and what you are comfortable with, you still might be able to get some time away! All parents and family dynamics are welcome. |
Please consider donating to our scholarship fund. I'd love to be able to offer this highly beneficial experience to all families - especially those that need financial support. Thank you!
